Personality (at least four sentences): Janus preferred to promote creativity in his soldiers, rather than merely punish their failures, and did not often kill off personnel for minor failures, as that could easily strain the resources of D'Hara. In addition, Janus encouraged his senior officers to express their own ideas and gave them reasoned consideration rather than ignore any outside ideas. The sharp contrast between Janus's style and that of megalomaniac and sadistic D'hara leaders heightened Janus's ability to lead. Janus's command boosted the morale of his soldiers through victories, but also through his clear dedication to D'hara. Officers and soldiers serving under Janus Hassildor admired his lack of concern for personal glory, wanting only the defeat of D'hara's enemies and the establishment of order. Finally, Janus is willing to admit defeat. Rather than stand proud and fight a losing battle, Janus knew when it was time to retreat, although those instances were few and far between.
While a master of military tactics, Janus is more than an adept commander. His use of knowledge and intelligence in conjunction with stunning tactics proved Janus to be one of D'hara's most remarkable military commanders. The precise application of intelligence allowed Janus to win countless victories over numerically superior forces. Janus believed that one could understand the psychological and tactical limitations of one's adversaries through the examination of their art, and thus exploit their weaknesses. This conviction was often proven correct since his vast knowledge and obsession with the analytical study of art resulted in almost infallible strategic victories over nearly every opponent Janus engaged. Finally, Janus laid out complex campaigns in advance of his attacks. By following a carefully planned campaign, Janus was able to keep his enemies guessing. In the time it took his enemies to understand one phase of his plan, Janus had already moved on to the next. In this, Janus was always a step ahead of his foes.
History (at least four sentences): Janus Hassildor, an D'Haran noble, and Commanding General. Bore to Bella and Uriel Hassildor in a small unknown town on the outskirt of the People's Palace. He grew up as a small beggar child, scraping to make ends meet. When he was 17 he enlist into the Army and serve as an guardsman of the People's Palace. When he was 23 he was made Captain of the People's Palace Guards, during one time when he was 25 he was called up to Lord Rahl chambers.
Lord Rahl asked him to killed every members on his Council of Generals, of course this was great honor to Janus. But the only thing he could think of was how to killed them. They was guarded 24/7 by squad of 30 soldiers. And so Janus thought that he would called an meeting for the Council of Generals, in which they was killed by private soldiers loyal to Janus. After their death he then one-by-one kill his private soldiers just in case they betray him about him murdering the generals. Janus was appointed the new Commanding General for this.
His life as a D'Haran soldier is a lonely one and Janus Hassildor lives an isolated existence, due to his background all Janus know how to do is be a soldier. As a noble after the Lord Rahl made him nobility, Janus treats himself to the best clothing D'Hara has to offer. Janus serve in the D'Hara army for 12 years being at the age of 29 before being made the Commanding General of the Army. Janus was also to win the loyalty of 40% of the D'Haran Army, and some might say. They was more loyal to General Janus Hassildor then Lord Rahl.
Lord Darken Rahl describe Janus Hassildor when they first met, "This one is constantly thinking, analyzing, strategizing. He showed no fear, but was curious, studying me in turn."
