History:Selena was raised within Southaven the city of thieves and cruel warmongers. She alongside her brother lived with their cruel father, who served Darken Rahl with all he could muster, Selena’s brother Alan was a man of honour and was a well-respected swordsman in Southaven. He even served as a Boundary Warden and left Selena in the care of their father Zerion, however Zerion mistreated Selena like dirt and like a punching bag. Selena endured cruelty, slavery and physical beat downs, but one thing kept her fighting for life and that was her brother Alan whom she was very close too. Zerion hatched a plan to make more of a loyal servant to Darken Rahl, he decided to offer Selena to him so that he could make her into a Mord-Sith, but fate had plans for Selena. A friend of the family who also lived in Southaven hatched a plan to rescue Selena before Rahl’s soldiers came to pick the girl up. But he needed help so he sent a messenger towards the Boundary Warden and sought the aid of Selena’s brother Alan who immediately left his post to help his little sister.
It was indeed a close call as Alan came just in time to stop Rahl’s soldiers from taking Selena. Alan fought with honour and was able to escape on horseback with Selena in his arms. Days went by and they eventually headed towards the old home of their mother who was murdered by Zerion, she used to live in a small hut just north of Southaven within a thick forest. With a saddened heart Alan blamed himself about what he had learned about their father. So in order to make it up to his little sister Alan vowed to raise her himself and teach her how to survive in a cruel world. Within fourteen long years Selena was taught by her brother to wield a sword and trained day and night, at the now age of eighteen she came a strong fighter and was even able to spar with her older brother.
But destiny came knocking on Selena’s soul. After years of searching Zerion finally found the old family home of his dead wife and stood with several soldiers of Darken Rahl, it was a dark day for the Fireheart family and a tragic battle took place. Both brother and sister fought with everything they had and finally defeated their father and his soldiers, but Zerion refused to give up and used all his strength to throw his sword towards an injured Selena. But Alan took the blade into his own body by jumping towards Selena, the young teen watched in horror as the sword penetrated her brother fatally wounding him. Taking her sword Selena cried out in anger and killed her own father with her sword, with it finally the injured Selena walked slowly over her dying brother and held him with her arms.
She begged her brother to not leave. In his dying words Alan told Selena that it was now her time to face the world that she was brought up in and forge a new path with her heart, as he died in her arms Selena cried out in pain towards the very heavens with all her might. But before she had time to mourn Selena heard the hoofs of horse shoes riding fast towards her positions, wasting little time she grabbed what supplies she could and ran as fast as she could threw the forest but her wound made her fall several times. In the end she was forced to stop at the edge of a waterfall, surrounded by Rahl’s forces Selena followed her heart and jumped, several days later Selena woke up and found herself in the care of a confessor called Serena.
She tended to Selena’s wounds. But Serena soon discovered something that would change Selena’s world forever; she was in fact the younger sister to Cara the Mord-Sith who now works with the Seeker. Weeks later and Selena had a full recovery, from there Serena told her the truth about her family, Selena was born into Cara’s family a few years ago, Cara’s parents wanted to surprise their daughter about having a sister. But soon the family discovered Darken Rahl’s purpose to search for Mord Sith. So in secret he sent a family friend to take the baby Selena to one place where Darken Rahl would never look for Mord-Sith and that was Southaven, where there she was adopted by the evil Zerion but loved by Alan. A short time after Selena was sent away it was then that Darken Rahl took Cara and made her into a Mord Sith, realising this Selena decided to find Cara her long lost sister and help her in anyway she could.
RP SampleThe archery tournament was well underway. The next archer was Selena Fireheart. Her heart was beating fast and her confidence below, but the courage within her heart urged her to meet the challenge of the arrows and their targets.
Selena was dedicating her turn to her mother who had sacrificed everything to ensure her daughters survival in life. For the tournament she wore a long red dress and leather boots. Around her shoulders a long hooded cloak. On her turn, Selena placed her hand over the wooden construct of the bow while entering the spotlight and stood before the cheering crowds, she closed her eyes, breathing slowly. Taking in the excitement Selena walked towards the assigned area where all Archers had to be to begin their turns at shooting at the targets. As she arrived she scanned the area carefully, she knew this was not going to be easy. She was going to do her best and that was all that counted.
In a show of respect Selena turned and politely bowed to the crowd Lifting her head up Selena sighed feeling the grips of nervousness grab her body, shaking it off she watched as one soldier handed her three arrows and a quiver. She took the arrows, nodded to the soldier who returned to his post. Looking at the arrows carefully she selected one and placed the others inside the quiver putting the strap over her shoulder. She walked towards the first of the three targets, which sat just slightly, away from her. Selena pulled her cloak putting it behind her. She felt the grains of wood on her hand and knew it was time for her to begin her try at the targets. Slowly she lifted the arrow up towards the bow and placed the end into the centre of the bowstring.
Placing her feet slightly apart. Selena got into a sideways stance and stood before the first target, there she lifted the bow slightly until the arrow tip was pointing towards the target. She used her strength to pull the bowstring backwards and quickly placing her fingers into position, so the middle fingers held the bow string together and the left two fingers held the edge of the nock that sat behind the fletching. Quickly she released the grip so that the strength of the bowstring, her own strength and the hardness of the bow allowed the arrow to fly away from Selena’s position. The arrow flew with grace piercing the air with its sharp point speeding towards the target. The tip penetrated the target. Selena’s eyes looked on and smiled as the first arrow sat deeply within the centre of the first target.
The crowd gasped and cheered. Selena’s first target was a success. Waving to the crowd Selena sighed in relief, it was not over yet. The second and third targets were the obstacles to conquer before her turn ended. Taking her bow Selena walked over towards the second target, her eyes seeing that it was even further back than the first, she thought this was going to be a true challenge. Again she stood sideways and slowly raised the bow while taking the second of her arrows and placing the nock end into the centre of the bowstring. There she pointed the bow so that the sharp arrows tip was pointing towards the second target.
Selena used the strength in her arm and pulled the bowstring back. Her fingers positioned as before. Nervously Selena released her grip and watched the arrow fly away. Selena couldn’t watch and looked down. The arrow flew through the air and plunged straight into its target. The second target had been defeated Selena looked in amazement as the arrow stuck right into the centre of the second target. With a large smile Selena’s eyes and ears heard the cheering from the citizens of Camelot. Another target down, the final and most difficult of all awaited Selena. Walking towards it she gasped in horror as the final target stood much further away than the other two. The sea of doubt grew bigger. All Selena could think about was to do her best putting everything she had into her final arrow, she placed all her faith and beliefs into the third arrow. One last time Selena stood sideways placing her feet apart slightly, picking out the last arrow she lifted her bow while placing the nock into the centre of the bowstring. The final target within sight Selena quickly pulled the bowstring backwards placing her fingers into position one final time.
As the tip of the arrow aligned itself with the target Selena sighed releasing her grip allowing the bowstring to push forwards letting the arrow fly away. She watched stunned as the arrow flew, Selena closed her eyes not wanting to see the result.
Loud cheers were heard from the excited crowd. Selena opened her eyes and looked on as the arrow tip went straight through the target, it was slightly to the right of the centre. It was a successful hit. Feeling proud at her accomplishments Selena turned around and bowed to King Uther and the cheering people of Camelot. Holding the bow, she waited for one of the knights to collect it, nodding in respect. Knights quickly took out the three arrows embedded into the three targets and moved to safety.
Selena sighed looking up to the heavens thanking her mother. Wishing luck to her fellow competitors Selena quietly pulled the edges of her hooded cloak around her and slowly left the area. Relieved her turn was finally over. She watched the tournament from afar.
