Zedd
Zedd was walking at a steady pace as is mind was thinking fast.He never wanted to separate from Richard and Cara but it was the best they came up with to get what they could about the stone of tears.He and Kahlan were about twenty miles apart from Richard and Cara when the sun was going down and evening came.
Looking up at the sky and seeing no clouds Zedd smiled and said to Kahlan,"We should stop and rest for the night my old bones won't be any good if we go on like we do now,a good rest and a meal will help this wizard's body to go on"winking at Kahlan trying to sooth the atmosphere for he knew Richard didn't like leaving Kahlan and he had a hunch it was the same for Kahlan.
"Well what do you think ? is it good or not we can find a place to hide so we can't get caught by any soldiers Mord-Sith or any robbers."making a wince as he spoke trying hard to make her smile.

Kahlan didn't like separating from Richard. It wasn't that she didn't trust Cara. She just rather protect Richard herself than rely on other people. However, the wizard was right. They needed to separate to finish their mission. Kahlan knew that the mission was bigger than her, bigger than Richard, bigger than the two of them. It was getting dark, but she could probably go on for a few more hours. When the wizard suggested they stop she nodded in agreement. She knew better than to suggest other wise. Zed wasn't exactly young and fit. Kahlan gave him a small smile to hide the fear and annoyance.
Then, she looked around. "Well, we can stay here," she said as she walked over to an open patch. She took off her bag pack and rested it against a tree. "It's kind of out of sight. I think we should be fine." She tried to give him another smile so that he wouldn't worry too much about her. Kahlan wasn't used to people worrying about her. She reached in her bag and pulled out half a loaf from lunch. Then, she took out her water canteen and some dried herbs she had collected from the journey. "If you could start the fire, I can make us some soup."

Zedd saw that Kahlan tried her best to be cheerful but knew very well that her mind was with Richard and worried for him.But he also knew that she would do whatever she had to to help the seeker to get the the Stone of Tears in it's rightful place.And at Kahlan's first expression he saw she would rather go on for a couple of hours more.
He smirked as she said it was a good place as he followed her to the open patch and nodded saying,"Yes that's good "looking around and continued,"I'll go get some wood" as she put her pack by a tree and listened to her comment and replied,"It is but we got to get a small fire so the smoke won't be seen"
He then smiled at her last words and said with enthusiasm,"Right away I'm starved aren't you?" as he went on to get some wood and after a couple of minutes with a twist of is hand facing the stach of wood he threw a ball of fire and it lit up instantly and said,"Can't wait to fill this empty stomach of mine "grinning at Kahlan as he sat down in front of the fire.

Kahlan sat on a blanket and waited for Zed to return with the wood. Once he did, the fire was roaring. "I could eat something," she said smiling back at Zed. Kahlan poured water from her canteen and then placed in on the fire. She tossed in the herbs then stirred it with a spoon. It would take a few minutes to get the water boiled. She took out two bowls and placed them on the ground. "So, how far do you think Zed and Cara are?"
Her thoughts drifted away wondering if Richard was eating or still walking. Then, she thought about meeting up with Richard again. After a few more minutes, the soup was done. She poured soup in both bowls and handed one to Zed. Then, she tore apart the bread she had in half and handed one to Zed. Kahlan tasted the soup. It wasn't the best thing, but it was good enough. They would need to stock up on food the next time they stop by a village.

Once the fire was lit up and Zed was sitting down by Kahlan's side he smiled as she said she would eat something is stomach was having a hunger Battle and waiting the food Zedd would eat up as he looked on when Kahlan was preparing the meal..At her question Zedd looked at her and replied.
"I think they are as far as we are and they are stopped as well to rest and to eat."He knew Richard has migraines and it worsened if he went on more then he should and that if he continued it wouldn't be at is advantage,and it would make Kahlan nervous about it.
When he got the soup Kahlan prepared and the bread he ate them but he did ate more tasteful meal but on the road and in the woods you couldn't ask for a feast."This is delicious Kahlan" and smiled as he finished the bowl and the bread he had.Looking at her he said to her,"What is on your mind at the moment ? putting is bowl by is side. he wanted to talk with her about anything that would relax her.

It eased her mind a little to know that Richard had stopped and was eating dinner. She continued to eat her soup. When Zed complimented the soup, she knew that he was only saying that be to be polite. It wasn't really that good. "Thank you," she said as she dunk her bread in the soup. Kahlan only had a few more bites left, but she ended up playing with her food. She knew she shouldn't be wasting food like this. But, her mind was somewhere else at the moment.
Zed seemed to pick up on that when he asked her a question. She came out of her thoughts and looked up at Zed. "Nothing," she lied as she shook her head. It was silly things, really. Nothing to really burden the wizard. Kahlan had seen Zed more as a grandfather than a friend. After a few more moments of debating if she should tell Zed her thoughts, she finally put down her bowl. "I've just been thinking about Richard. I'm just worried about him. What if what the prophecy about Richard really ending the world was fulfilled. I don't doubt Richard could succeed. But, part of me is worried about that prophecy." The last thing Zed or Richard needed to hear was doubt.

Zed saw how she played with her bread and taught to himself,"She still thinking about Richard and I don't how to help her with that" and sighed.And when she thanked him for is words on the cooking he gave her a smile and said,"It was my pleasure."
Zedd hoped that Kahlan would open up and when she spoke he smiled as he listened to what she said and replied,"Kahlan have faith in Richard don't slop at what the prophecy is saying word by word you will be worried sick all the time.I have confidence in Richard and I know he will come throw this without any doubt."Now the love you share should bond the faith you have for him as he for you,and you shouldn't have theses thoughts we need all our mind clear of anything that could stray us away from our quest for we need all our strenght and witts to seek out the Stone of Tear."
Looking at her with a grin he said,"Have any good things to tell me" and giggleed

The future was always in motion. Shota spent much of her time watching its ebb and flow, seeing how things could change suddenly. It was always interesting, but it rarely ever surprised her.
She knew that the Seeker was searching for the Stone of Tears, and she worried about the prophesy. Zeddicus was being stubborn, as always and was refusing to name a new Seeker, even though the prophesy said that Richard would hand over the Stone of Tears to the enemy of the light. The visions she saw of the future could be changed, but prophesies could not. Richard Rahl was doomed to fail, and Zeddicus continued to let his fondness for the boy cloud his judgement.
This time as she looked into the future, she was trying to see exactly why Richard would hand over the stone to the enemy, but seeing into the future was often an inexact science. What she saw instead was something that truly shocked her.
Lord Rahl, alive once more. Walking among the living just as he always had; not a baneling, not a spirit, but a living, breathing man once more.
Shocked, Shota performed a spell which would allow her to appear where ever Zeddicus was. She needed to tell him immediately.
So it was at that moment, while Zedd was chatting with Kahlan by the fire, that Shota appeared abruptly, stepping out of the fire as a spirit would.
"Zeddicus," she said. "I have news for you."

Zedd jumped as he saw a figure coming out of the fire and recognized Shota as she came out and materialized in front of him and Kahlan.As the woman spoke he came over is shock saying,"Have you any other way to present yourself to people you may consider it before letting people have an heart attack seeing you appear like you did."
Sitting up strait Zedd looked at Shota but not in her eyes he knew very well what would happen and asked her,"What can I do for you ? if it's about Richard you came at the wrong time and you won't get anything from me."and invited her to sit by he fire.

Shota's expression was serene. "And what was I to do, Zeddicus? Knock?" She looked around at the trees and open space that surrounded them, reminding them of where they were. "If I had walked up behind you, I probably would have been shot full of arrows and wizard's fire. At least this way, I appeared right in front of you, so you could see me coming."
She did not sit, but instead moved to a position where both Zedd and Kahlan could see her clearly. Tucking a lock of her long auburn hair behind her shoulder, she regarded Zeddicus for a moment, a sly sort of smile on her face. "You're looking old, Zeddicus. You should have stayed with me. We could have stayed young and beautiful together."

Zedd rolled is eyes and shrugged at Shota's comment and replied,"Oh alright you have a point but still you can get someone to get a heart attack .and before I shoot my fire I do look to see to whom I throw it at just to make certain I don't miss."And with a sarcastic tone in is voice he continued,"And if I did hit you you wouldn't get burnt in the slightest bit of your body so don't tell me I could hurt you you can protect yourself very well so spare me the useless talk."
Zedd looked on as Shota stood where he and Kahlan could see her and smiled to himself and thinking,'Being careful aren't we what's up your sleeves ?'and heard what she told him and replied,"Me old your as old as I am so don't complain about me you should take care of you.As for me staying with you that was the best decision I made in my life to go away and stay in Aydrindil and live in the wizard's palace and study and teach is was more gratifying then to have defied age and the prophecies .
Looking at her Zedd then asked her,"Why did you seek me it isn't for old time sake I do know you what's on your mind?"

Shota continued to smile for a moment. She might have been even more suggestive in her comments, had the Mother Confessor not also been present. Shota had long ago accepted that she was always going to have feelings for Zeddicus, and she was always going to wonder what could have been if he had taken her up on her offer. Even her best glimpses into the future had not been able to tell her that.
But now, she really was here for a reason, and bantering with Zedd was not it. She had important news to share, and she knew that they would need to hear it.
"I've actually come on very urgent business, Zeddicus," she said, shooting a look over at Kahlan as well. "And it concerns both of you. I have seen a vision... A vision of Darken Rahl. Alive."

Zedd started to be a little impatient especially with Shota it wasn't in is nature to feel this way but with her around him he felt uneasy and instinctively didn't trust her after all she did and say things on Richard and Kahlan's were abouts and the prophecies told on the seeker knowing how Richard felt about that.
He also knew that Shota always wanted to be close to him but he managed to stay away from her as possible so no one could know were he and Richard hid for the last twenty years or so until Kahlan came..
Looking at her as she spoke he smirked and replied,"Tell me something I don't know.Are you having trouble with your eyes or haven't you heard the man is dead really dead I saw him die it wasn't a trick and Kahlan can say the same.So what give you the notion that hes alive all of sudden had a chat with the keeper to give us a scare so he can have a hold on us is that it"
Staring at her he continued," Because to tell you the truth I can't tell if you are sincere to help us you deceived me so many times in the past I don't see why I should believe you on that ?give me a good reason to then maybe I will reconsider my position."crossing is arms on is chest and stared at her but not into her eyes.

Kahlan's hand went straight to her daggers when she heard Zedd address Shota. She didn't trust the witch woman. The woman's very presence sent a shiver down Kahlan's spine. What she wouldn't give to get out of Shota's presence. Shota began talking to Zedd, and Khalan feared that Shota was here to convince Zedd that he should name a new Seeker. She knew that Richard would never give the Stone of Tears to the Keeper of the Underworld. Prophecies could be averted. She had seen it happen. She knew that Richard would find the stone of tears and use it to seal the rip in the veil. He would never give it to the Keeper.
But then Shota said something that neither she or Zedd could have predicted. Darkens Rahl- alive?! "It's not possible, Shota. Darken Rahl is dead. We saw him die with our own eyes. He was killed when he used the Sword of Truth to break the Boxes of Orden apart." Although Kahlan's mind denied the possiblity, in her heart she knew it to be true. Her Confessor's magic didn't sense any sort of lie from her. But she didn't know if it was the truth. All she knew was that Shota believed it to be true. "Zedd," she said quietly to the Wizard, "I think she's telling the truth. I can't sense any sort of lie coming from her."

Zedd did noticed from the beginning how Kahlan reacted at Shota when the woman made her presence seen by both of them in a rather flamboyant way and in the same way he felt the same.But the woman wanted to talk with both of them so he had to comply only if Shota would stay put and no magic as he would do the same..
Zedd abruptly turned is head to look t Kahlan when she spoke but lifted is arm and held is hand in front of Shota instinctively to tell her not to try anything and said ,"Kahlan is right "glancing at Shota,"I told you he was and is dead."But at Kahlan's other comment Zedd looked at Kahlan with perplexed expression on is face and said.
"You must be mistaken ?"looking at Kahlan again he then continued,"How could he come back?"turning back to Shota he asked,"Do you have any idea how did this happen,why did the keeper gave him back is life back how and why?"All questions were in is mind to be asked but would he have the right answer.He was a wizard of the first order but this kind of magic was very powerful more powerful then he ever saw to give back life to a dead body that was not likely to be seen every day.
