As with any board, this board has a set of rules we need you to follow if you want to be a member. Here they are:
1. You must read the rules before joining.
2. Watch your language. This is a PG-13 board, so the language should be PG-13 as well. NO SWEARING!!! If you wouldn't hear it on TV, then don't use it here.
3. No flaming, attacking, or picking on other members. It's just mean. Mean people suck. Rude behavior to other members, whether in the C-box, on the board itself, or in PMs will also have serious consequences.
4. Spammers will be banned on sight. Please do not join the board just to advertise your own board, or to advertise free downloads or whatever. If you're an active member, you can advertise, but people who join just to advertise are not cool. There is a free advertising section as well which is open to guests. Check the advertising forum for further rules about advertising. And take note: I *really* hate PM advertisements!
5.Please try to use proper grammar and spelling. I know not everyone is perfect, but do make an effort. If I see you completely murdering the English language, I'll have to send you a warning. Don't make me do that. There is a Spell Check button at the bottom of all posting forms, so please don't be afraid to use it! Also, please try to avoid the use of netspeak, especially while RPing. In off-topic threads, a little is OK.
6. Also, while role-playing, we ask that each post be at least 4 sentences long. Absolutely NO one-liners are permitted! Please, take a little time to get into your character's head. What are they doing? What are they thinking? Give your role-playing partner something to work with.
7. If you join, please try to remain active. At least post every few days or so. And if you're going to be away for any length of time, let me know, OK? We can work around you, but it will be easier if we know what's going on.
8. When you join, please use the application form to apply for a character. Make a new thread in the Pending Applications area, using your character's name as the subject line.
9. You can be more than one character, as long as you can handle multiple characters. New members must wait one week before making additional characters. Please PM me (Cara) to ask permission to make another character.
10. Please obey the staff. If we ask you do do something, please do it. If we ask you not to do something, please don't do it. And please, don't attack staff members, either!
11. Please keep OOC (out of character) stuff in the OOC boards. However, if it is necessary to say something OOC in the RPG boards, separate it like this: ((OOC: gtg)) The password for the application is Stone of Tears.
12. Do not RP other people's characters. RP only as your own characters. Let them fill in their part.
13. Please do not use fancy posting templates in your RP posts. They are distracting and confusing. If you would like to use one to begin a thread, that is fine, but using it every time you post gets confusing, because it takes too long to get to the point of the post.
14. Rules are subject to change. I will alert you to any major changes.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT PROBOARDS TERMS OF SERVICE ALSO APPLY. THESE STATE THAT YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 13 YEARS OF AGE TO JOIN THIS OR ANY OTHER PROBOARDS SITE. FOR OTHER TERMS OF SERVICE, PLEASE REFER TO www.proboards.com/tos.html. Thanks.
