Rose knelt down in the garden, and plucked off a small sprig of the herb in front of her. Rosemary, her namesake. It was midday, and Rose was taking a walk in the gardens. She didn't want to have to deal with the other Mord-Sith right now. She wanted to be alone for a bit. Rose had shed the extra armor from her uniform, leaving her in her plain leather pants and low-cut top. Her Ageil was still on her belt, more out of habit than anything. She wished she could unbraid her hair as well and let it down. Her Mistress had braided it tightly, giving her a headache with the constant pull. But she couldn't. She didn't want to have to face her Mistress' anger of having to take the time to re-braid it.
Rose smelled the small piece of herb she had just plucked, enjoying it's bitter scent. It reminded her of home. Her mother has been a healer, and the house had always smelled of exotic herbs and spices she used in her medicines. She and her two sisters had all been named after spices: Sage, Thyme and Rosemary. The thought sent a pang of homesickness through her. She missed her family. She wondered if she would ever go home again. Perhaps one day.
Rose was shaken out of her revere as she heard footsteps approaching. She stood up, and turned away from the herb garden that she was kneeling at. She turned to leave, tucking the small piece of home into her belt, wishing she could've found her sister's plants as well. But it just wouldn't do to see a Mord-Sith getting emotional over a sprig of Rosemary.

Keleth was walking through the people's palace waiting for Lord Rhal to come. He was told it might be a few days before he arrives so he decided to visit this so called garden out of curiosity. Walking down the steps he entered the garden, as he saw flowers and herbs everywhere but the strange thing is he saw a mord-sith here alone about to leave. He needed some company since he really has no idea what Lord Rhal has plan for him. Keleth was wearing a black shirt with boot cut pants, black jacket, with his shoulder cape and speed up to catch up with this mord-sith. "Um excuse me, your a Mord-Sith? Would you mind keeping me company till Lord Rhal arives?" He tried to catch up with her but she was too fast and he had hoped she heard him speak to her. Sighing he turned around and looked at the garden. He raised his arm and messed with the Rada'Han. It was very annoying know at his age, he wanted it off really bad because it made him look like a prisoner, though it was the only thing he has of his family which means he wouldn't just through it away, he would keep it for good faith to remember him of his parents that were killed by bandits. Though Keleth doesn't know that the Dharan army killed them while General Leo kidnapped the kid to train him.

Rose turned to look at the boy who spoke to her. "Um, excuese me, you're a Mord-Sith? Would you mind keeping me company till Lord Rahl arrives?" She gave him a once-over. He wasn't much taller than her, an inch at the most, wearing all black clothes and with dark hair. She pursed her lips, thinking. It wouldn't be to terrible to be in his company. But why would he ask a Mord-Sith for company? And what was his business with Lord Rahl? She walked back to where he was standing and asked, "Why do you ask a Mord-Sith for comany? There are many others who would be better for you to associate with." Either he was stupid, suicidal or insane. Nobody would go and ask a Mord-Sith for anything. But she did want someone to talk to. She always had to keep her silence with the other Mord-Sith. Perhaps he could provide some stimulating conversation. "What is your name?"

Looking back at the mord-sith he was surprised she even answer to him but knowing he isn't alone anymore he would take this chance to make a conversation. Watching the female speak Keleth watched the female speak toward him. "Because I can if i want to. There is no reason why I can't talk to the first person i see here at this palace. My name is Keleth Silverkin. I just recently arrived with General Leo to see Lord Rhal. Keleth spoke toward the mord sith with a smile to answer her question. Examining this mord sith it could feel that she wasn't like the others. Why would a Mord-Sith be in the garden. "So what brings you, a Mord-Sith into the garden. Doesn't seem like they would be in here?" Keleth spoke toward her and very quickly added a another question, "Whats your name?"
Keleth was taught all about the mord-sith, being taken at a young age to complete their training to become a Mord-Sith. They are ruthless with no heart and will only follow Lord Rhal. Again Keleth raised his hand to mess with the Rada'Han over his neck."So annoying this is!"

Rose silently contimplated lying to him and getting him into trouble on purpose. He didn't seem to belong here. But then, she saw the Rada'Han around his neck. He had to be a magic user of some sort, important to Lord Rahl's cause. Keleth, an unusual name. She had heard it before, a rumor from one of the guards. He was supposedly important. If he had a Rada'Han, there was a reason his magic was suppressed. He seemed slightly cocky, like a young wizard just discovering his powers. That's probably what he was. "My name is Rose," she said, watching him intently. "And it is none of your business why I am in The Garden of Life. Are Mord'Sith not allowed to walk where they wish?" It was a rehtorical question, she didn't intend for him to answer. But if he did, that would just show how much of a smart-alek he was. Keleth bean playing with the Rada'Han. "The Rada'Han around your neck is there for a reason, Keleth. It would be unwise of you to complain about it. It's for your own good." She was provoking him, testing him to see how far he would go to try and keep a conversation going with her without getting too annoyed.

Keleth looked at Rose with a stern eye, was she testing him he thought to himself. But then something ticked him off and it was her last comment toward him. It was as if she was trying to annoy him and yet it worked for Rose. Looking at her he gave her a glare, "You make me feel that its a punishment. How dare you say such a thing to me. If you must know I have had this on since i was born and it is the last memory i have of my family. I'm perfectly normal even with out this what call it, Rada'han. Maybe if you watch what you speak maybe your sisters would treat you with more respect!" Keleth lashed out at Rose though he felt he shouldn't have but he did anyway. Remember being told to respect his elders made him feel worse about what he just did. Looking up at rose, "Sorry, I didn't mean to speak the way I did. I should be respecting you. Your older than me. I'm sorry!" He spoke toward Rose and hoped she would accept his apology.

A bitter wave of crushing guilt washed over Rose. Why, oh why did she automaticly assume that Keleth had been forced into the Rada'Han by Lord Rahl? Probably because she was forced into servitude herself. She felt so bad that she wanted nothing more than to fall on her knees, begging for forgiveness. To her shock and amazement, Keleth did just that. She was confused, why was he asking her forgiveness when she was the one in the wrong? Ah, that was it: Respect for your elders. Keleth thought she was older. She might have been, it was hard to tell. But then again, she could have been younger. "Your apology is accepted. It is understandable that you cherish what reminders you do have of your family." As she spoke, she subtly pulled out the sprig of Rosemary from her belt and began twirling it between her fingers. "As for the respect of my Sisters of the Ageil; how do you know that I do not already command their respect? What makes you think that I am not called "Mistress Rose" by my subordinates?" It was stupid of him to assume such. If he had spoken the way he did to her mistress, he would have been beaten with her Ageil within seconds. She should have at least backhanded him. That's what she was trained to do. But, alas, she had not given up her entire sense of compassion. She did not feel the need to cause pain to tothers. She would not do so unless she had to, or he pushed her too far.

Keleth looked at her with an uneasy feeling when she began to question him about why he had spoke out about her, he looked down at the ground and looked up at her, "Well to be honest, I don't know why, took a lucky guess just thought you were different then the rest of your sisters. I don't think of your common sense when im lashing out at people." He spoke trying not to look at her but was caught in her gaze and told her the reason why he said what he said. Few moments of silence passed as he wondered why they called it a Rada'han. "Why they call it a Rada'han? And what does it do? Because you seemed to mention it was a punishment of some sort?" He questioned Rose back with questions he had about the thick metal bar around his neck.

So he didn't know why she was different than the other Mord-Sith, just that she was. Good. She would never tell why, and he would never figure it out. Then Keleth asked a question that suprised her. He didn't know what a Rada'Han is? He had said that he had been wearing one almost his entire life. How could he not know what it was for? "A Rada'Han is a magical collar that is used to suppress a magic user of his or her abilities, rendering them unable to use magic of any sort. It's even strong enough to suppress the magic of a confessor. The only way to take it off is with the key. You can't break it off, the magic stops you from doing so. Lord Rahl uses them to control enemy wizards and witches when he captures them." She crossed her arms, satisfied that she had answered his question sufficently. She voiced her question to him, "How can you not no what a Rada'Han is when you have been wearing one for your entire life as you claim? And what are you? Are you a Wizard that Lord Rahl has taken captive?"

Keleth was surprised to hear what a Rada'Han was. The words kept repeating in his head, suppress a magic user of his or her abilities, over and over again. His parents never said anything about it, and when Keleth was about to ask questions his family was attacked and that was where General Leo saved Keleth. Looking at Rose, "You mean, I have a special ability? General Leo saved me from an attack and ever since then I have been training with him and his soldiers. I never once asked about it because I was so busy trying to learn tactics and how to use a sword." Keleth spoke as he talked about his past though he rarely remembered the what really happen, he was just going off what General Leo had told him. Then Rose began to question if he was a wizard, "You think I could be a wizard? Lord Rahl must know something about me. I was never told about me being a magic user. If only he would hurry up and arrive at the Palace already." Keleth continued on rambling after questioning Rose about being a wizard.

Rose nearly laughed out loud at his reaction to hearing what a Rada'Han was. The excitement in his eyes when he contimplated the thought that he could be a wizard was more than Rose could take. There was an almost childlike innocence to Keleth that made her want to smile and laugh and enjoy his excitement with him. On the outside, however, Rose had to maintain her composure. She was Mord-Sith. She wasn't supposed to show any sort of emotion, other than anger and hate. She was supposed to be a cold-hearted bitch, not a smiling, happy, bubbily girl. And yet, despite how deeply that was ingrained into her mind, the smile that broke out onto her face was uncontrolable, as was the short burst of laughter that escaped her lips. It wasn't the cold, heartless laughter that you could sometimes hear the other Mord-Sith having, it was true laughter.
Within the nest heartbeat that she had realized it, she had re-gained her composure and forced herself to keep her laughter under control. However, she couldn't fight the smile that seemed to want to break free. It would disappear for a second, then reappear. Rose couldn't seem to control herself. What was wrong with her? She had never reacted this way to anything, ever. Not since she had been brought to train as Mord-Sith. Trying to keep her laughter under control, she said, "You honestly don't know what you are? How could you not know? Was your mother a Witch, or your father a Wizard?" She didn't know if he would answer. If nothing else, she could at least try and help narrow down the possibilities for him.

The exictment of keleth made Rose burst into laughter which seemed to be odd for a mord sith, which would mean she was different from her other sisters. Mord-sith don't laugh like that for pure fun, smiling back, he kept thinking what could he be. He had heard about confessors before though there were only women confessors so that was out of the question, so he must have to be a wizard of some sort. "I really don't know what i really am. I would have remember if my parents were a wizard or a witch. Though I was very young so I have no idea." He spoke back in response to Rose's questions.

So his parents didn't seem to be either witch or wizard. Hmm... Rose couldn't think of any other reason for him to have the Rada'Han on. Unless, somehow, he was a confessor. But confessors were only women. There were no male confessors. Ever. But there was always the slim possibility. But why the need of a Rada'Han? Confessors could control their magic, couldn't they? They used it on command, didn't they? "My only other thought would be that you're a confessor of some sort," she said slowly, "However, there are no male confessors in existance, unless you happen to be the lucky first." Rose then mentally slapped herslef. First the laughter, and now this! What was wrong with her? What was it of her concern if he was a wizard or a confessor or any other magic user of any sort? Keleth was a mystery, one that, so it seemed, Rose was determined to solve. However... "You may have to wait and talk to Lord Rahl to be certian what, if anything, you are."

He be a male confessor was out of the question, how could he be one if there was no such thing for male confessors. They were killed at birth, but smiling at the thought would make it very interesting. Though something caught him off guard, this Mord-sith was very interesting. She seemed to care in ways a mord-sith shouldn't though it could totally be his own mind playing tricks on him, "That can't be all male confessors were killed at birth. Maybe Lord Rahl would know more about me....can i ask a question...why are you different then the rest of your sisters?" Keleth asked as stared at Rose with a smile. She would either change the subject or not answer at all. First the laughter and then it felt she was caring for him about him being a wizard or what not.

Rose stared at him unblinkingly. "I would tell you, but then I would have to kill you," she deadpanned. Keleth would probably think she was joking. Oh, if he was, how wrong he would be. Rose was never more serious than in times like these. Why she was different, or rather how, she was different was a secret she would never tell. Not even under the pain of torture would she tell. It was the only thing that was keeping her alive, keeping her from truly becoming like one of them. It was a secret she would take to the underworld with her.Trying to steer the topic out if such dangerous waters, she asked, "Where are you from, Keleth? Are you D'Haran?" It was a simple enough question, one that many people enjoyed discussing with others. Where someone was from and what their life growing up was like were topics that could keep people talking for hours. At least, most people could.
